The Notre Dame alumni network is often touted for its global reach, and with service as a core tenet of the mission of the ND Alumni Association, we sought to leverage this reach in a way that would bring alumni, parents, and friends together to make a positive impact on a global scale. The Notre Dame Global Day of Service provided an opportunity to bring together alumni and friends from all demographics, regardless of where they are in the world, and in many different ways — in-person, online, or individually. To achieve this goal, I devised communications plans to raise awareness, provide education and resources to project leaders, and support volunteers in their efforts to make a difference in their communities.
